چکیده

We state and prove a generalized adiabatic theorem for Markov chains and provide examples and applications related to Glauber dynamics of the Ising model over Zd/nZd. The theorems derived in this paper describe a type of adiabatic dynamics for `(R+) norm preserving, time inhomogeneous Markov transformations, while quantum adiabatic theorems deal with `2(Cn) norm preserving ones, i.e. gradually changing unitary dynamics in Cn.

A note on adiabatic theorem for Markov chains and adiabatic quantum computation

We derive an adiabatic theorem for Markov chains using well known facts about mixing and relaxation times. We discuss the results in the context of the recent developments in adiabatic quantum computation.

A note on adiabatic theorem for Markov chains

We state and prove a version of an adiabatic theorem for Markov chains using well known facts about mixing times. We extend the result to the case of continuous time Markov chains with bounded generators.

Stochastic bounds for a single server queue with general retrial times

We propose to use a mathematical method based on stochastic comparisons of Markov chains in order to derive performance indice bounds‎. ‎The main goal of this paper is to investigate various monotonicity properties of a single server retrial queue with first-come-first-served (FCFS) orbit and general retrial times using the stochastic ordering techniques‎.

Empirical Bayes Estimation in Nonstationary Markov chains

Estimation procedures for nonstationary Markov chains appear to be relatively sparse. This work introduces empirical  Bayes estimators  for the transition probability  matrix of a finite nonstationary  Markov chain. The data are assumed to be of  a panel study type in which each data set consists of a sequence of observations on N>=2 independent and identically dis...

Evaluation of First and Second Markov Chains Sensitivity and Specificity as Statistical Approach for Prediction of Sequences of Genes in Virus Double Strand DNA Genomes

Growing amount of information on biological sequences has made application of statistical approaches necessary for modeling and estimation of their functions. In this paper, sensitivity and specificity of the first and second Markov chains for prediction of genes was evaluated using the complete double stranded  DNA virus. There were two approaches for prediction of each Markov Model parameter,...
